Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie’s best friend Lucille has found new best friends, and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary’s class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard, and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament, and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.

Next Steps for Cast Families
Please pay the Participation Fee and Costume Fee for each family member in the cast by the first rehearsal on September 10. These fees help Rise hire excellent production staff, create sets and props, and build our costume collection for the current show and seasons to come!

Meet the Team.
Arianna Cooper
Co-Director
Arianna Cooper is a theatre director and educator with 19 years of experience. She earned a degree in Theatre Performance from West Texas A&M University and a degree in Education from SMU. Over the past decade, Arianna has directed elementary productions including Matilda JR, Frozen JR, Shrek JR, James and the Giant Peach JR, and Newsies JR. For the past five years, Arianna has served as Head Theatre Director at Arapaho Classical Magnet, teaching theatre to students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Rachel Dresel
Co-Director
Rachel has been an elementary music educator since 2003 and has taught at Arapaho Classical Magnet since 2008. A graduate of Baylor University and a certified Orff-Schulwerk instructor, Rachel has served as music director for productions including Matilda Jr., Frozen Jr., Newsies Jr., among many others. She is passionate about helping young performers grow in confidence and musicianship and is thrilled to be part of the Rise community!
Aislyn Standifer
Stage Manager
Aislyn Standifer is 20 years old and so excited to be on the production team for Junie B. Jones! She has over five years of experience in the theatre industry and is passionate about making an educational and fun environment for children of all ages. When she’s not pursuing theatre, Aislyn works as a barista manager at her parents’ restaurant or is out at the movies!
